We give all members a email account so we can send out notifications of meetings as well as other activities. Down time, very little and if its going down for maintenance they notify us long in advance. If service is interrupted its always a short time.

Our company began looking for a new web host a few months ago. Two of the criteria's were that we have mysql access and unlimited transfer. After a few days of finding hosts that promised a lot of hype and offered very little we (by accident) found Left Coast. A little apprehensive in the beginning because of all the services offered at such a low price, we decided to take a leap of faith and give it a try. After all they did offer a money back guarantee.

Originally we were going to use it to run our backend scripting for our main dot com site. Now we are completely redesigning our look and services offered because of their services. Here is just a couple points about Left Coast.

1) First and foremost.. AMAZING customer service. We had encountered a bit of trouble with some scripting on our site. Matthew went above and BEYOND our expectations of service! They worked with us to make sure their servers worked just as we needed them to. If you have ever tried to deal with a hosting company in the past you'll know this is RARE! Another point on customer service that we appreciated was when we call "real" people answer and deal with us. With other hosting companies when you call for service you get mindless people that are just there to pass on the info to an "upper level" tech or try to help you but have no clue what their doing. One thing we appreciated with Left Coast is that if they don't know something, they will tell you that they don't know. Which means no fluff made up answers. Although this only happened once at Left Coast I was told they would look into it and I was called back with a detailed explanation within 2 hours.

2) Second would be services. Where to start? I'll just leave it at this. Shop around... you won't find a better deal. I would have to say my personal favorite feature would be the ability to create unlimited pop email accounts. This is saving our company alot of time and problems right now. Our dsl provider has gone out of business and we needed pop accounts quick. This feature was a Godsend!

The account setup was faster than expected and the response email from SWHost gave all pertinent information to allow me for a quick and efficient start to my project without any bumps in the road. The email administration is Fantastic. It is quite feature rich, and at first I did not think it was, but after setting my first few accounts, I realized that each user can be set up from the basics to 'super user' to administer the email accounts. Great news for me when I'm not able to administer the email and the site. And graphical to boot? What more could you ask?!?

I will say this. I'm assuming that since you appear to be a small business, you have the chance to do something that most companies don't... help those that really need it without making them feel like their too ignorant. This attention has allowed me to better administer my site, and especially the phorum board.
